Best known for his acclaimed novel Understanding Comics, Scott McCloud has become a well known name in the comic book and academic worlds alike. However, McCloud rarely dabbles in works of fiction. Luckily, we may get to see how McCloud apply his years of accrued comic book knowledge in a work of fiction early next year.
McCloud's new book is called The Sculptor. The story covers the life of David Smith, a comic writer who's artistic edge is slipping. David makes a deal with the devil to improve his artistic ability. After the deal, David can sculpt whatever he pleases with the help of nothing but his hands.
McCloud told Comic Book Resources that the book took him five years to write and that he has wanted to tell this story since before Understanding Comics. The Sculptor is expected to be released on February 3, 2015. This news has been brought to you by Comic Book Resources. You can read the original article here.
